About Rachel

Rachel Morrisroe is an inventively original voice in the world of rhyming picture books. With multiple projects under wraps, she feels super lucky to be working with leading illustrators including Steven Lenton and Ella Okstad to create enchanting worlds, loved by children and their grown-ups. Rachel’s first three books – How to Grow a Unicorn, The Drama Llama and How to Grow a Dragon – have been instant bestsellers.

Rachel is Welsh and grew up in a little town called Colwyn Bay.  She moved to Leeds for university and then onto London for work where her favourite job was doing PR for Battersea because she got to foster puppies and take dogs for a walk during her lunch break.  Now she is settled in Cheshire with her husband, two young children and a very daft dachshund.

Her writing is represented by super-agent Lydia Silver at Darley Anderson Children’s Agency.
